Friends of Lake Louisa State Park 5k Run 2012

TIME: 7:30 A.M.
LOCATION: Lake Louisa State Park ‐ 7305 U.S. Hwy 27, Clermont, Fl. 34714
COURSE: Participants will enjoy this beautiful USAT certified course through a tree lined, paved out and
back course through Lake Louisa State Park. Remember, “Wildlife will have the right of way!”
TIMING: Chip timing will be provided by Sommer Sports.
AWARDS: Top overall male and female finishers will receive trophies.
Each age group top male and female participants will also receive awards.

REGISTRATION: Register by Sunday, May 13 to guarantee your T‐shirt size. On‐line registration is now open at http://www.imathlete.com/events/LakeLouisa5K. If using a mail‐in form, send to Friends of Lake Louisa State Park, P.O. Box 121236; Clermont, Florida 34712. All entrants will receive a specially designed T‐shirt at package pick‐up.
ENTRY FEE: Through May 13 ‐ $20. May 14 through May 24 ‐ $25. Day of race ‐ $30. There will be no
on‐line registration the day before the event (May 25). Proceeds will go to the Friends of Lake Louisa State Park to benefit Lake Louisa State Park. No refunds.
PACKET PICK‐UP: Day of race ‐ The park gate will be open for participants at 6:00 A.M. Allow time to drive
from the Park entrance to the packet pick‐up location. Packets are available from 6:30 A.M. ‐ 7:15 A.M.
The Park Entrance gate closes for the race by 7:15 A.M.
REFRESHMENTS: Water will be available at the start and on the course. Fruit and water will be available at
the finish line.
DIRECTIONS: Lake Louisa State Park is located on HWY 27, just 7 miles south of HWY 50. Allow an extra 15 minutes to drive from the front gate to the race parking area.
RESTRICTIONS: For safety reasons, baby joggers; stollers; bicycles; roller skates; in‐line skates and pets will be prohibited from the race course.

Nature Fest will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the main beach at Lake Louisa.
“Get Outside and see Florida”! Don’t miss this family event at Lake Louisa State Park and sponsored by The Friends of Lake Louisa State Park. Nature Fest is for the whole family with activities designed to raise awareness of outdoor recreation, how to stay safe while hiking, and being healthy in Florida. Discover fascinating facts about the plants, animals, and history of Florida’s environment and ecosystems through demonstrations, activities, and guided hikes. Learn how to get a close-up view of the natural world respectfully. Local businesses and organizations will be on hand to show how guests can become more “green” in their day to day living.
