Volunteer – The park currently needs volunteers to provide trail maintenance and/or exotic plant removal a minimum of two hours per week.
Trail Maintenance: This person will patrol the park’s entire trail system and addresses any maintenance issues. Specific tasks include trimming low or encroaching branches and vegetation; removing debris and litter; checking trail markers for damage, repair, accuracy; removing overgrowth from marker posts; and reporting any major problems. Must be able to work outdoors and be capable of using hand tools and small gas operated tools, such as a weed whacker, safely, have a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate on and off road vehicles safely.
Exotic Plant Removal: This person will identify exotics in the park and remove them by hand or with the use of herbicide. Must be able to work outdoors; be capable of using hand tools and herbicide safely and effectively; be willing to learn how to mix and apply herbicide and identify exotic plant species; have a valid driver¿s license and ability to operate on and off road vehicles safely.
